前AMD高管、知名科技产业分析师穆黑德（Patrick Moorhead）6日在X发文表示，逼迫台积电加码投资美国，对增进美国国安没有太大助益。
他说：「只要台积电的知识产权还保留在台湾，并遭到中国侵略，我们在美国就不会有下一代节点的技术，而是落到中国手上。届时美国台积电晶圆厂的技术将过时，停留在过去。我宁愿有一半的台积电IP工程师赴美，也不要另一座晶圆厂。」
「届时会像是在太空竞赛中，我们拥有火箭制造工厂，却没有来自德国的火箭工程师。我们将空有工厂，却无力制造。」
